Dr. Michael Fux amtet seit 2009 als Dozent und Projektleiter an der Fachhochschule Westschweiz (HES-SO) Wallis. Zuvor war er Geschäftsführer des Technologiezentrums Wirtschaftsinformatik (TEWI) in Brig und wissenschaftlicher Assistent am Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik der Universität Bern bei Prof. Dr. Thomas Myrach. Sein Studium der Wirtschaftswissenschaften mit Vertiefungen in Marketing und Wirtschaftsinformatik hat er an der Universität Bern abgeschlossen. Seine Forschungsinteressen liegen im Bereich der Nutzung von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien in Marketing-, Verkauf- und Serviceprozessen bei touristischen Leistungsträgern, sowie bei der Unterstützung von Kooperationen in Dienstleistungsnetzwerken wie beispielsweise touristischen Destinationen. Zum letzteren verfasste er eine Dissertation, deren Fokus auf die kooperative Nutzung von CRM-Systemen in Tourismusdestinationen gerichtet ist.
