Marktdominanz der Online-Buchungsportale in Deutschland nimmt im Hotelvertrieb weiter zu

Jede vierte Hotelübernachtung in Deutschland (25.2%) wurde im Jahr 2016 über Online-Buchungsportale (OTA) generiert. Drei Portale dominieren dabei den heimischen OTA-Markt mit einem gemeinsamen Marktanteil* von über 95%. Eindeutiger Marktführer ist die Priceline Group (Booking.com), die ihren Marktanteil von 47.2% im Vorjahr auf 54.7% im Jahr 2016 gegenüber der HRS Group (30.4%) und Expedia (10.8%) noch weiter ausbauen konnte. Zu diesen Ergebnissen kommt eine vom Hotelverband Deutschland (IHA) beauftragte Studie des Instituts für Tourismus der Fachhochschule Westschweiz Wallis, an der sich über 1.400 Hotels in Deutschland beteiligt haben.

Forte croissance en 2016 des OTAs dans la distribution hôtelière suisse

La part des réservations de chambres d’hôtel suisses faites au travers des plateformes de réservations en ligne (OTA, online travel agencies) a explosé l’année dernière et représente en 2016 plus de 27% du total des nuitées générées contre 20.6% en 2015. Les trois OTA principales que sont booking.com, Expedia et HRS totalisent ensemble 93% du marché des plateformes en ligne. Les réservations directes (client-hôtel) par e-mail ou téléphone ont pour leur part passé sous la barre des 60% pour la première fois. Ceci confirme la dépendance croissante des établissements hôteliers vis-à- vis des plateformes de réservation en ligne et de l’importance de l’internet pour les hôteliers. Selon les projections, d’ici 2020, plus 50% des réservations s’effectueront en ligne et non plus directement auprès des hôteliers. Telles sont les premières conclusions d’une étude de l’Institut de Tourisme de la HES-SO Valais-Wallis de Sierre réalisée avec le soutien d’hotelleriesuisse.

L’IAE  Savoie Mont-Blanc (IAE) de l’Université de Savoie et Sciences Po Grenoble du côté français, ainsi que l’Institut de Tourisme de la HES-SO Valais et l’Institut universitaire Kurt Bösch du côté Suisse, unissent leurs efforts pour offrir un « Executive MBA » (EMBA) en innovation touristique. Cette formation transfrontalière, soutenue par le Programme de coopération territoriale européenne France-Suisse INTERREG IV A 2007-2013, entend donner aux gestionnaires du tourisme, aux cadres d’administrations communales et régionales et aux cadres d’autres secteurs en reconversion vers le tourisme, des connaissances pratiques et théoriques pour affronter les futurs défis du tourisme et les enjeux liés à l'innovation.
